July 26 to August 13, 2025

Join Imperator Claudio Mazzucco (in Cairo) and Grand Master Julie Scott on this Initiatic Journey through Egypt with your Rosicrucian Family!

Our time in Egypt will culminate with the Initiation in the Great Pyramid with our Imperator Claudio Mazzucco.

SPACE IS LIMITED TO 40 INITIATES

DETAILED ITINERARY

INITIATIC TOUR OF EGYPT

Saturday, July 26: Arrive in Cairo, Egypt

Arrive at Cairo International Airport where our Tour Manager will assist you with your entry visa and through customs and immigration. You will then be transferred to our hotel - the beautiful 5-star Hyatt Regency Cairo West.

Sunday, July 27: Opening Circle/Egyptian Museum/Old Cairo/Coptic Museum

This morning we will gather for our Opening Circle. Then we will explore the treasures of the historic Egyptian Museum. Next we will venture into the heart of Old Cairo, visiting St. Sergi Church (where the holy family was hidden while they were in Egypt), historic Ibn Tulun Mosque, and the oldest Synagogue in Egypt. After a visit to the local market (souk) we will explore the Coptic Museum. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Monday, July 28: Cairo/Tel El Amarna/Cairo

Following an early breakfast, we will drive to Tel El Amarna, where the Pharaoh Akhnaton built a city dedicated to his deity - the Aton. It was here that he called for the Spiritual Unity of people under the umbrella of one deity. Here, we will see part of the extensive ancient Egyptian archaeological site containing the remains of what was the capital city during Akhnaton's reign. Grand Master Julie Scott will also lead us in a meditation in the partially reconstructed Great Temple of the Aton. (Breakfast, Box Lunch, Dinner)

Tuesday, July 29: Sakkara and Dashour

This morning we will drive to Sakkara to view the Old Kingdom pyramids, including the Step Pyramid, designed by Imhotep - the legendary architect and physician. The world’s oldest freestanding stone structure, the Step Pyramid consists of six tiers atop a mastaba (a low, oblong tomb) faced with cut stone. Next we will visit the "Bent" and Red Pyramids in the Dahshour area, as well as the Imhotep Museum. We will have a late lunch at a typical Egyptian restaurant in the countryside. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Wednesday, July 30: Cairo/Aswan/Abu Simbel

This morning we will take a short flight to Aswan then drive to Abu Simbel. The Abu Simbel temples were moved from their original locations after they were threatened by submersion in the waters behind the Aswan Dam. The holy mountain that was their home now lies under water. The relocation by UNESCO and the Egyptian Government in the 1960s was almost as monumental as the temples themselves. Ramesses's temple and a smaller temple built for his favorite wife, Nefertari, were both moved to the new site. We will stay in the nearby Seti I Hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Thursday, July 31: Abu Simbel

This morning we will visit the Abu Simbel Temples, the symbols of the international campaign for the rescue of the Nubian monuments. Overnight at Abu Simbel. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Friday, August 1: Abu Simbel to Aswan/Check in to cruise ship/Felucca ride/Aswan market

Following breakfast, we will drive back to Aswan and board our elegant cruise ship, to begin our seven-day adventure on the Nile. This afternoon, we will take a felucca ride on the Nile around Elephantine Island. Then we will explore the colorful local Aswan Market (souk) that offers Egyptian and African goods. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Saturday, August 2: Philae Temple

This morning we will take a short drive to the lakeshore and transfer by motorboat to go to the Temple of Isis at Philae for our private ceremony at sunrise at the temple consecrated to Egypt’s divine mother. We will have plenty of time here to experience the healing energy of Isis and her lovely island complex. We will spend the day sailing on the Nile to Edfu. This evening we will have a private visit in Edfu Temple, also known as the Horus Temple, the best-preserved temple of the ancient world. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Sunday, August 3: Esna Lock/Luxor Temple

Today we will relax on the Nile, experiencing its beauty and serenity, enjoying the countryside, and passing through the Esna Lock. This evening we will visit the Temple of Luxor. It was within Luxor Temple that R.A Schwaller de Lubicz developed his “symbolist” interpretation of ancient Egypt calling it the Temple of Man. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Monday, August 4: Dendera and Abydos Temples

In the early morning we will drive through the countryside of Upper Egypt to experience the Temple of Hathor at Dendera, which is dedicated to the goddess of love, music, dance, and joy. Then we will explore the Temple of Abydos, a major pilgrimage site for millennia, with its mysterious Osirion and Flower of Life. (Breakfast, Box Lunch, Dinner)

Tuesday, August 5: West Bank/Valley of the Kings/Queen Nefertari's Tomb

Today we will explore the West Bank, including the Valley of the Kings, with its Royal Tombs, and Medinet Habu, where the eight primordial deities were born. Then we will have the rare privilege of entering Queen Nefertari's tomb in the Valley of the Queens - one of the best preserved and most ornate of all known tombs. We will also see the Colossi of Memnon. There will be free time in Luxor this afternoon. This evening we will return to Luxor Temple. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Wednesday, August 6: Karnak Temple/Kom Ombo

We will visit Karnak Temple at sunrise, which will include a meditation at Sekhmet Chapel and a visit to the same sacred place where H. Spencer Lewis led a special meditation for Rosicrucian members in 1929. We will then return to the ship for breakfast and relaxation, as we cruise to Kom Ombo, where will will visit the Temple there that is dedicated to two deities - Horus, the Elder, and Sobek - the crocodile-headed deity. We will also visit the Crocodile Museum here, with the mummified remains of many ancient Nile crocodiles. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Thursday: Tuesday, August 7: Sailing on the Nile/Aswan/Nubian Village

Today we enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Nile back to Aswan. Here we will have a unique cultural experience as we visit a traditional Nubian village. Stepping ashore, we will be warmly greeted by the local people as we immerse ourselves in the rich tapestry of Nubian culture. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Friday, August 8: Aswan/Cairo/Grand Egyptian Museum

Following breakfast, we will take a short flight back to Cairo. Then we will visit the newly-opened Grand Egyptian Museum with over 100,000 artifacts from ancient Egypt, including the complete Tutankhamun collection. Then we will check into the world famous, 5-star Mena House Hotel, next to the pyramids, in our Grand Deluxe View rooms. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Saturday, August 9:  Initiation Day - Lake Moeris, the Sphinx, and the Great Pyramid

Today is the culmination of our Initiatic Journey. In the morning, we will drive to the Fayoum Oasis for our ceremony there. In the afternoon, we will have our private visit to the Sphinx and then we will enter the Great Pyramid for our Initiation in the King’s Chamber. (Please note that the Initiation is only open to members of AMORC.) Also, while we cannot guarantee that we will have admittance into the Great Pyramid, in our thirty years of bringing Initiates to Egypt though, we have never had a problem. Following our Initiation, we will have our farewell dinner with our Imperator and Grand Master. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Sunday, August 10: Departure Day

Following breakfast, those heading home will be taken to the airport, leaving with fond memories and warm hearts. (Breakfast)

OPTIONAL EXTENSION TO ALEXANDRIA

Sunday, August 10: Cairo/Alexandria

This morning we will drive from Cairo to Alexandria, where we will visit the iconic New Bibliotheca Alexandrina, dedicated to recapturing the spirit of openness and scholarship of the original Library of Alexandria. This is much more than a library; it is a center of excellence in the production and dissemination of knowledge, as well as a place of dialogue, learning, and understanding between cultures and peoples. After lunch, we will visit the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, an underground necropolis dating back to the second century, offering a glimpse into Alexandria's multicultural past, with its unique blend of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman influences. Then we will check into our beautiful seaside hotel in Alexandria the 5-star Four Seasons San Stefano. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Monday, August 11: Alexandria

Today we will visit the Citadel of Qaitbay, which was built on the site of the ancient Pharos (lighthouse) of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Then we will visit the  Alexandria National Museum, whose collection elegantly describes the expansive history of Egypt and includes artifacts from underwater excavations and the Serapeum of Alexandria, an ancient Greek temple built by Ptolemy III Euergetes (reigned 246–222 BCE) and dedicated to Serapis, who was made the protector of Alexandria. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Tuesday, August 12: Alexandria/Cairo

Today we will enjoy our lovely drive back to Cairo and check in to our airport hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Wednesday, August 13: Flight Home

We will say "until the next time," as we depart for home, with our hearts full of fondness for new friends and good memories.
